Why does my Logitech Quickcam's audio cut out midway through a video recording?

Tuesday, February 17th, 2009

I have a Logitech Quickcam webcam, and whenever recording a video, after about 20 seconds of recording the audio just turns into static. Replaying the video from the start and changing the audio feed settings doesn't seem to work, and Logitech's support site is very vague and unhelpful. Any answers would be much appreciated.

Check the drivers, there could be a driver malfunction and you will have to either reinstall the drivers you have now, or check the website for a later driver. If that doesn't solve the problem, it could be the camera itself.

Are Disk Imaging Tools Reliable?

Thursday, February 12th, 2009

For most users of Disk imaging tools I’m sure they’d rather never know if their disk image is working correctly or not since it would mean that their PC had crashed or they needed to recover their data. It is something worth looking into though since it’s to late when you find out your disk image was bad after a crash occurs.

Knowing which disk imaging tool is best, and knowing how to check if it’s working properly are the simple steps to ensuring your backup is going to work A1 when you need it.

Choosing the Right Tool for the Image

There are a lot of software products that do disk imaging. The most popular is probably Norton Ghost, been out for quite a few years. It’s a product that’s been on the market for a long time, how ever in research I’ve done I’ve found many users stating the the images didn’t work well when they needed them.

There are more promising programs on the market such as Acronis True Image which have been providing customers with better success.

To learn more about this program specifically check out these Acronis True Image reviews.

Make Sure your Hard Drive Image Works

Using a program like Acronis creates a restore image, rather then just a regular image on disk.Instead of just being a image of everything on your system, Acronis creates a bootable disk that allows you to restore your computer back to the settings and setup it was at the time your image was made. What does this mean for you? well you don’t just get a backup of your files. You also get your system settings, registry, email, startup folder etc. all backed up in one easy to re-install place.

Testing your Disk Image

You might be 99.9% sure your image is good, but I’d suggest testing it even still to ensure everything works after you’ve created it. Why?Like I said earlier in the article if you don’t test what your backup software creates and just try it when things crash it’s not a good time to realize that some files or the media could be corrupt and unrecoverable.

Here’s a Quick way to Backup your Computer Online

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Backing up files is something we all know we should do, but it’s one of those things that is so easy to procrastinate on. That is until the worst happens and you lose everything.

From my experience besides yesterday the next best time to start backing up your data online is right now.

Let’s Get Started

Backing up your computer online is the least painful way of ensuring your important files are saved some where else besides your hard drive. There’s no need for blank DVD’s, CD’s, external hard drives, USB drives etc. Everything is uploaded to a secure location and for a small fee is kept safe until you could need it.

The first step is visit Mozy, their an online home backup service that offers a simple free trial you can use to get started. After signing up you’ll need to download the small application used to select your files for backup and upload them to the secure backup server location online.

Which Files and Folders Should I Backup?

Most backup programs online, including Mozy Home Backup, select your My Documents folder as the default backup files and folders. Most documents will be in your My Documents folder, you should also add in any system settings files, and your email folders and address book.

If you’ve ever bought any software and had to download it and haven’t made a copy also add in those files.

Are we all done?

Once files are selected for backup all that’s left is to start the initial backup process in the Mozy application and you’re done. That’s it! The first backup will take some time since you are uploading a lot of data over your Internet connection.

Of course the good news is that once the initial backup is complete that’s it. Those files won’t need to be uploaded again unless their updated or modified in some way. The only items that will be uploaded will be as new files are added to the directories you’ve chosen to backup, and also if old files are changed in some way.

Buying a LCD TV HDTV Set Thats Right For You

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

While the process of purchasing an LCD TV HDTV can be tricky, following a few simple steps can make it go more smoothly. Knowing in advance what you want from an LCD TV HDTV set will make your decision-making process much less complicated. It is a good idea to take the time to become familiar with the technology before heading out to spend your hard-money on a new LCD high definition TV.

Plasma LCD TV is as popular as ever, as more and more people are buying these televisions for their homes. But what exactly is LCD? LCD stands for liquid crystal diode and refers to the actual substance that is found behind the screen in a plasma LCD TV. This liquid crystal diode twists as it reacts to the electric currents within the TV set. It then untwists to varying degrees depending on the amount of voltage that the current sends through, thus producing the image seen on the LCD TV HDTV set.

The HDTV flatscreen TV with LCD works by basically blocking out the light. The TV is built by sandwiching two sheets of glass and then putting the LCD solution between those two panes. The light’s intensity is then manipulated by the twisting and untwisting of the crystals in the LCD, creating images as the light passes through. The amount of light that goes through the crystals naturally affects the picture that you see on your LCD TV HDTV set.

The LCD technology makes the picture much easier to view. LCD high definition TV has a higher contrast level and is much brighter than the average tube television. This makes the images clearer and more natural looking. The amount of light directly affects the visuals on an LCD TV HDTV, meaning that the set will perform especially well under certain lighting conditions. The picture will not flicker as it does on the average tube television.

Before you think about purchasing a LCD TV HDTV set, you need to consider your budget and the amount of space you have to put the unit in. Your LCD high definition TV can come in sizes anywhere from 20 to 50 inches. The larger the image display, the more distance you will want to have between the television set and your viewing area.

An LCD TV HDTV is still quite pricey, so for most people it is a big investment. Because of this, you should be especially careful when purchasing your new LCD TV HDTV. Make sure to ask plenty of questions, so that your new LCD TV high definition television will last you for many years to come.

Do all of the options available in new televisions have you scratching your head? Are you sure that you are ready to upgrade your technology, yet you are not convinced what precisely that means? You may be the perfect prospect for high definition television. All you need to recognize is that you get vivid, sharp, un-pixilated images straight into your living room. You no longer have to to go to the bar to obtain projections that are high quality of your favorite team’s games. If you have not visualized the difference that high definition can give you, check it out. Go to this link for more information:.

What’s the best point and shoot camera for video recording?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

What’s the best point and shoot camera for video recording? Cash limit is $200. Thanks!

one of the better products in this price range is the Casio Exilim EX-Z80… it has a youtube capture (640×480 @30fps) …it also records in a higher Wide VGA (848 x 480 @ 30 fps), perfect for watching video on a widescreen monitor or TV. and it records to the H.264/AVC AAC, MOV format… which will allow the video to be transfered to Apple multimedia devices directly without being re-encoded. There are a number of cameras that record video to other formats…such as MJPEG and Quicktime…but the audio portion is usually WAV… and that audio format uses up more space and conversion is needed when watching on PMP devices. Its currently on sale at B&H for $140. This camera is also not a slacker when it comes to other features , face detection, and image quality. Another nice unique feature for video fans is a dedicated Movie button. No need to dig though screen menus and you can go from shutter button to movie button instantly!
Good Luck and happy shooting

How can I prevent my Voip phone to be bugged?

Tuesday, February 10th, 2009

If my Voip phone is bugged how can I destroy the bug and prevent it of happening again?

Not likely it is bugged. The phone it's self you can look at and see if it has a bug (roaches??) on it, under it or in it. The service is pretty much "bug proof" unless you are on a wireless router. If so, then ANYONE with the equipment and the motivation, can LEGALLY listen in. They can not, however, repeat any portion of the conversation. There are laws regarding listening to cordless conversations and what you can do with the information, but the "air ways" are still free. There are also encryption methods that can be used to get better security on Voip services.
