How to record your voice with a microphone using Apple’s Garageband and then export or save the recording as a mp3 file.

1. Turn on computer.
2. Plug in headphones
3. Turn off computer speakers if needed
4. Make sure headphones are working
5. Open system prefernces and go to sounds
6. Select your microphone type from inputs
7. Make sure you have levels
8. Close system preferences
9. Launch Garageband
10. Select podcast
11. select you male vocal track
12. Select monitor from track info
13. Record you voice
14. Move song slider to end of the recording
15. Share to disk
16. Select mp3 and custom.
17. Save
There ya go.

Are there any free voice recording software programs that allow you full usage rights to their programs and are simple to use and have good quality ? I am looking for something basic to record my voice for videos I am making on You Tube..Most of the programs I have tried so far had very poor quality and my voice came out distorted or did not allow me full usage rights. Thanks for your replies

Windows comes with a sound recorder
Programs-Accessories-Entertainment-Sound Recorder

If your mic is good, then it should sound fine in that.

After you record what you want, you can edit in this program with full rights.

I have a Pink Razr and I made a voice recording, thinking it was part of the notebook feature. Unfortunately, I was wrong, any voice recordings are saved as possible ringtones. How do I delete the recording?

Its very simple…..you record voice by opening the flap and pressing the right key on the side of the flap. Now, all the recordings are stored in the Voice Records folder.

Here is how you can go there…

Go to Menu - Tools - Voice Records.

Select the record, and press the Menu key (the topmost central key). You will see the delete option. Delete the recording.

I have a digital voice recording that has so much background noise that you have to strain to hear the voices. How do I eliminate the other sounds?

I'm planning on recording myself siging to send to someone who is wanting to hear, but I don't own a recording studio–just a microphone. What are some good, free programs online that will allow for the quality of my voice to sound clear and sharp, instead of buzzed and unclear? I'm trying to make this sound professional. I do NOT want editing software! Not trying to improve my voice or anything…
I recommend Audacity. It's good for Mac, PC, Linux, etc. and is free.

While it's a sound editing program, it's also really good for making high-quality voice recordings. Then you can easily export the sound to MP3.

Also, if you're having trouble with getting clear sound you may want to check your microphone and perhaps replace it if it is old or broken.
