HOW TO RECORD YOUR VOICE USING GARAGEBAND

How to record your voice with a microphone using Apple’s Garageband and then export or save the recording as a mp3 file.

1. Turn on computer.
2. Plug in headphones
3. Turn off computer speakers if needed
4. Make sure headphones are working
5. Open system prefernces and go to sounds
6. Select your microphone type from inputs
7. Make sure you have levels
8. Close system preferences
9. Launch Garageband
10. Select podcast
11. select you male vocal track
12. Select monitor from track info
13. Record you voice
14. Move song slider to end of the recording
15. Share to disk
16. Select mp3 and custom.
17. Save
There ya go.

    Plug in your mic, …
    Plug in your mic, then go to Ctr panel and then hard ware sound option or just your sound configuration. Find manage audio devices and click on it. Now you should get a square screen/rectangle and it should say play back, now highlight your mic and press set default, now you be able to hear in your mic. Now go to the tab that says recording and set mic to default, and that is it. Now if that dont work make sure you close any thing having to do with sound that you can hear like vids music

    if you see levels select record and see if it records what you are generating. If it does record you have a monitor setting you need to fix. Also check that your output sys pref is set to headphones.

    i would like to know if it is possible to extend the recording time of a single track. the last time i believe the recorder quit at around 1hr 6mins.

    I state you need a mac. If you are running a PC you could use windows media tools. I think its free.
